Calendar
“Am I free on Thursday?”, “what do I have tomorrow?”, “book a customer into a free slot” — these are questions for your calendar. Without it, the assistant answers off the top of its head, which means guessing. Once the calendar is connected, it checks it itself every time someone asks about time.
Start in words:
here's the link to my calendar
or
connect my iCloud calendar
The builder will ask for exactly what's missing and tell you where to find it.
Two ways to connect
| Secret calendar address | App password | |
|---|---|---|
| Where from | Google, iCloud, Outlook | iCloud, Fastmail, Nextcloud |
| What the assistant can do | only sees when you're busy | sees and books, reschedules, cancels |
| What you need | one link | the account email and an app password |
The first way is the simplest and already gives you the main things: “am I free on Thursday”, a morning “what do I have today”, free slots for customers. Nothing can be booked through such an address — and the assistant tells people exactly that instead of promising.
Where to get the secret address
Menu item names in the services sometimes differ a little — look for the meaning.
Google Calendar (on a computer):
- Open calendar.google.com and the settings (the gear at the top).
- On the left, in the list of calendars, pick yours.
- In the “Integrate calendar” section, copy the secret address in iCal format.
In Google work accounts, the admin can turn this address off — then it simply isn't in the settings.
iCloud: in the Calendar app on your iPhone or Mac, share the calendar, turn on “Public Calendar” and copy the link.
Outlook: in the calendar settings — “Shared calendars” → “Publish a calendar”, choose the calendar and “Can view all details” access, copy the ICS link.
This link is like a key
Anyone with the secret address can see your calendar. The platform keeps it sealed and never shows it — not in the dashboard, not in a conversation, not in the change log. If the link ended up in the wrong place, reset it in the calendar itself (Google has a “Reset” button right next to it) and give the builder the new one.
App password
For the assistant to book, you need an app password — a separate password for one app, not your usual one.
- iCloud: appleid.apple.com → “Sign-In and Security” → “App-Specific Passwords” → create one. It looks like
xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx. The login is your Apple ID. - Fastmail: in settings, the app passwords section → a new password with calendar access.
- Nextcloud: settings → “Security” → create an app password. You'll also need your Nextcloud address.
The platform knows the server address for iCloud and Fastmail by itself. Google and Outlook don't allow booking with a password — for them it's read-only via the secret address.
If the account has several calendars, the first one is connected; the builder will name the rest, and you can take any of them instead: “connect the Work calendar”.
What the assistant does with the calendar
- Answers about time: “yes, Thursday after 2 pm is free”.
- Finds free slots of the length needed. Give it your working hours — “I work 9 to 6 on weekdays” — and it will look only within them; if you don't, slots are counted across the whole day, and it will offer people normal daytime hours.
- Books, reschedules, cancels — only with an app password. For a recurring event it cancels one occurrence, and the whole series only when you explicitly said the series.
- Morning summary: the calendar is also available in scheduled work — “every morning at 8, tell me what I have today”.
The assistant shows events in your time (Kyiv), while the event itself stays in its own time zone: a meeting a colleague in London set for 10:00 London time won't shift after the switch to winter time.
Every booking — with your approval
A calendar booking is an action with an effect outside: the calendar notifies attendees right away. So every booking, reschedule or cancellation the assistant puts up for your confirmation: the panel shows “awaiting your approval”, and it tells the person “sent for confirmation”, not “booked”. Approval is valid for a day.
If you want it to book by itself:
book in my calendar yourself, without my confirmation
The builder will ask for consent. To go back — “ask me again before booking”.
What customers see
To customers on your site and in messengers, the assistant only says when you're busy — no event names, places or descriptions. It sees the full calendar only in a conversation with you: in the dashboard, in the linked chat and in scheduled work. The admin of your site also sees only busy times.
Event names and descriptions are written by other people too — anyone can send you an invitation. So after the assistant has read your events, anything it writes in that same turn — an email, an action, a calendar booking — goes to you for approval as a card, even if you allowed “book it yourself”. The same applies after reading your email.
When the calendar can't be read
The assistant won't say “free” if it can't see the calendar. If the calendar didn't load, it tells the person exactly that and books no one.
The platform re-reads the calendar itself every few hours. If the link was reset or the password revoked, you'll get a “Owner's calendar can't be read” notification — see When something breaks. Give it a new link or password — “here's the new link to my calendar” — and the problem closes by itself.
On the panel
The Calendar line is there even when there's no calendar yet — “not connected”. Otherwise it says what the assistant can do with the calendar: “sees busy times only”, “books with your permission”, “books on its own” — or “can't be read”.
Tapping the line shows which calendar is connected, your working hours, when it was last read, and the coming week's events the way the assistant sees them. There are also “Check now”, “Disconnect” and a switch for booking without approval. Only dashboard admins see this line.
You can also disconnect in words — “disconnect the calendar”. The link or password is erased, and the calendar is always erased together with the agent.
Not available yet
Connecting Google Calendar and Outlook “in one click” (by signing in with Google or Microsoft) isn't available yet: that needs a separate verified platform app. You can already read these calendars — via the secret address.
